The Afters, a Christian pop rock band, will headline the 33rd annual A Taste of Colorado on the Main Stage, Saturday, September 3 at 1:30 p.m., presented by 101.9 Way FM. The Festival, which exhibits an array of food, a diversity of music and free admission, will run September 2 though September 5 in Downtown Denver’s Civic Center Park.
Originally-based in Texas, this four-piece band was launched into the national spotlight with the debut of their first album “I Wish We All Could Win.” This project features the hit “Beautiful Love,” which was selected as the theme track for MTV’s “8thand Ocean,” earning them an avid following. It was the most downloaded track of 2006 on the iTunes Inspirational charts and earned the band an mtvU award.
The Afters release of their second album “Never Going Back to OK” soared to the Top 50 on the Billboard Top 200 and premiered on the TV shows: “Grey’s Anatomy,” “Dr. Phil,” “Army Wives” and “Rachel Ray.” It also was the most played song on R&R magazines Christian CHR chart for 2008.
The band composed two No. 1 radio hits that are showcased on their third record “Light Up the Sky,” and received placements on “The Biggest Loser” and “You Deserve It.” Additional media, including: Rolling Stone, Seventeen.com, E! News Live, TV Guide, Premiere Radio and more also covered The Afters.
Their fourth album, “Life is Beautiful,” was recorded in April 2013. The Afters are currently recording their fifth studio album, which is scheduled to debut in September 2016.
